One of the overlooked highlights of DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS was the introduction of a possibly delicious snack, that may also possibly be chaotic to eat. Sure, we all delighted when Bruce Campbell appeared in Sam Raimi’s MCU excursion, but the joy of seeing our favorite knucklehead combined with the sweet comedy of a rough ‘n’ tumble Pizza Poppa obscured something else in that moment. I speak, of course, of Pizza Balls—the very fare that Pizza Poppa is peddling.

Internet cook Andrew Rea figures out how to make these yummy affronts to god for his wildly popular and beloved YouTube series Binging With Babish.

What’s interesting about this particular venture is that Rea essentially has three different approaches to creating a facsimile of Poppa’s Pizza Balls - with the first being promising, the second being aborted in the early stages, and the third seemingly getting a passing grade.

Often Rea will take a second shot at these pop culture recipes to refine them to taste better while only slightly deviating from the original culinary blueprint. This time he has to invent it whole cloth and the audience gets to see the evolution of the dish.
