Chad The Bird, “Under The Killing Stone”

Chad The Bird is a terrific monologuist who operates out of Chicago. A mix of Bill Hicks, Kermit The Frog, David Byrne, and a a shot of Malört, this fine feathered funny fella waxes poetic on all sorts of topics from current events to perennial issues like rock ‘n’ roll and other cultural quicksand. This latest riff was recorded at The Paper Machete in Chicago on April 2, 2022, and it brilliantly sums up the level of exhaustion that is permeating the world all told with lots of gallows humor and even a sprig of hope.

As the video description says:

Chad has reached many breaking points but perhaps this is the most alarming as it came from a story from early in the month, delayed, almost forgotten. Either way: He’s bombed on Daisy Cutters and long nights listening to Echo and the Bunnymen. It’s all too much.

Check out Chad The Bird’s website and this round-up of the many links where you can find Chad around the Internet and how you can support his high art.
