Epic Home Makeover with a Kaiju Monster Party

It seems like home makeover shows are multiplying faster than Gremlins in a swimming pool. Whether it’s the renovation vs selling type, or making a dreamhouse come true for some deserving family, or much more, there is enough fodder on HGTV and beyond to give viewers all sorts of construction ideas that they will never implement in their own living situations.

My Epic Room Makeover is a particularly niche title on Channel 4 in the UK which finds a team of artisans transforming a particular room (or entire apartment) into a special themed space for just one night. Working against the clock and with a dwindling budget, the contractors figure out ways to capture the aesthetics and vibes of the participants while ensuring that their solutions can easily be removed after the evening’s soiree (to avoid angering any property managers). In this particular episode, a family of three want to transform a room into a place fit for Kaiju—more specifically, fit for a Kaiju brawl. So how does it turn out? The answer…might surprise you.
