Honest Trailers - JINGLE ALL THE WAY

I never watched JINGLE ALL THE WAY when I was young. I literally knew the movie from the trailers/ads and the ongoing joke on Late Night With Conan O’Brien where the Clutch Cargo version of Schwarzenegger (Robert Smigel) would constantly mention it.

And then I saw the film in my late teens/early twenties. And it was mildly charming in how desperately it insisted that what you were watching was fun and wacky. JINGLE ALL THE WAY doesn’t make any sense and its constant detours to various situations only raise further questions until the film is just one big plot contrivance with a slight smattering of narrative cohesion.

Luckily there’s Honest Trailers from Screen Junkies to point out most of these horrible decisions and weird routes made by basically everyone involved with JINGLE ALL THE WAY. The video is a breezy but funny poking of holes of these holiday horrorshow. Again, it's not a good movie, but the cold calculation behind each attempt at humor and the thick film of flop sweat that covers every scene is delightfully unhinged in its own way.

(Thanks to the constant ebb and flow of Nazis, I try to vet some of these things. So if it turns out Orion’s Reign is really cool with the European fascist movement Golden Dawn or something, please let me know so I can take this down, apologize, and add them to the list of Nazi punks that should fuck off.)
