Horror High with Diana Prince

Drunk History was a very clever idea that produced some quality comedy and much needed insight into important historical events and figures. But that show is over and it’s time for something new to come along.

Diana Prince appears to have hazily stumbled upon the answer with her videos discussing specific horror films while enjoying assists from [Perfectly Legal] herbal supplements. While it was made four years ago or so, her video “Horror High” is a genius idea wherein entertaining folks (comedians, writers, charismatic and excitable nerds of all sorts) enjoy some recreational activities via shots, one-hitters, pint glasses, bowls, joints, bottles, and whatever else and are then set loose to discuss some particular cinematic gem.

The movie in question for this go-around is 1984’s FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER. The fourth entry in the storied slasher series (and my personal favorite in the entire franchise), directed by Joseph Zito and featuring memorable turns by a young Corey Feldman (who was very much the subject of a young Diana Prince’s affections) and an anarchic Crispin Glover (who causes great sorrow to our toasted hostess as his character does not survive, despite horrible dancing to “Love Is A Lie” by Lion). It’s funny, random, weird, sweet, relatable, and thoroughly charming.

And seriously…wouldn’t this be great? Think of the various folks involved in horror from all sorts of backgrounds. Now choose a film, an artist, or an aspect that they get visibly excited to discuss. NOW throw weed and/or booze at them. Figure out how to focus the discussions and topics a little bit more, and it would be insanely enthralling. If Shudder doesn’t make Cineplex Studies by this time next year, I am launching my own impromptu initiative and getting all manner of mutants involved.

Enjoy the clip and be sure to catch Prince as Darcy The Mail Girl on The Last Drive-In on Shudder. And let’s all work to make ours a world where we see truly passionate artists get worked up with abandon about the horror movies they love.
