Justice, “Heavy Metal”

There’s an interesting push/pull situation on the Internet of discovery. On the one hand, there is so much out there to explore from the past and present that can send you down rabbit holes of topics, genres, mediums, and more that there’s always going to be “new to you” finds. On the other hand, when you alight on some new piece that’s years old and want to tout it, there’s a fair probability you’ll be greeted by people who are already tired of the thing as they were all about it when it first came out.

The music video for Justice’s song “Heavy Metal” came out on December 13, 2018 and yet I only recently discovered it and was immediately blown away. Directed by Filip Nilsson, it’s a great interpretation of the song by the French electronic duo (actual names Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay) that uses the Norfolk State University Spartan Legion to reenact the bombastic anthem in a dramatic and badass manner. It’s a great combination of dope visuals and a terrific song that will hopefully propel you forward in your day. If it’s new to you, I think you’ll greatly enjoy it. And if you’re already familiar with it, then it’s great to revisit.
