Legion x ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Five years ago today we bid adieu to Noah Hawley’s genius take on a lesser-known X-Men character with the series finale of FX’s Legion. Neon Splatter came out of semi-retirement just to celebrate on this site as it’s a delightfully bizarre and beautiful and weird and wonderful and flawed and fantastic show that ran three seasons from 2017 through 2019. Anchored by Dan Stevens in the titular (kinda) role as David Haller, aka Legion aka Professor X’s reality-bending mutant son, the show was awash in pop sensibilities and cultural references that ranged from the esoteric to the everyday.

One of the best tributes to Legion was this musical video made by Jérôme Hervier that cuts up the show (well, footag from the first two seasons of it, anyways) to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” It’s a delightful video and fitting encapsulation of this bonkers series that explored so many different themes with complete artistic abandon.
