These are the questions still facing millions of us after easily the most notable event of the past 25 years. I’m speaking, of course, of the debacle with the Barney balloon at the 1997 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Sure the holiday is right around the corner, as is the annual event; but perhaps we can give thanks to the heroes born in the streets of New York that day, or offer up our gratitude that such a horrendous moment hasn’t been repeated.
