“That Time The Golden Girls Were Held Hostage By Santa”

We’ve featured Pushing Up Roses in this space before. She’s an incredible video essayist who does fun recaps, trivia, behind-the-scenes, and breakdowns of movies and TV shows like Murder, She Wrote, Goosebumps, and The Golden Girls, amongst others. Today’s Afternoon Delight is about those mischievous mature maidens of Florida and the time they became hostages for a deranged Santa Claus. Y’know, typical advanced age sitcom fodder.

The funny foursome find themselves in a scary Santa situation when a deranged man in a Santa suit holds them up. Well, three of the four as Sophia is waiting in the car—which seems like a bad idea to put the octogenarian in a closed car in the Floridian heat. The crazed Claus is played by Terry Kiser of the WEEKEND AT BERNIE’S duology and FRIDAY THE 13TH, PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD, amongst other projects, and it’s an emotional rollercoaster that involves Blanche’s Santa fetish, weird Italian stereotypes, and one pissed off Betty White.
