Triumph vs. Star Wars Nerds

You’ve probably seen this remote from Late Night With Conan O’Brien with Triumph The Insult Comic Dog going to the line for ATTACK OF THE CLONES’ premiere. It’s infamous in its hilarity and brutal takedown of Star Wars nerdery. But…have you watched it recently? It’s surprising how well it still holds up, and that’s partly because it’s clear that the Star Wars nerds are fine (if not welcoming) of the roasting being delivered by Robert Smigel and his Rottweiler puppet.

That gregarious approach to the proceedings is confirmed by this 2015 post by Germain Lussier, who was in line at the time and even pops up in the video itself.

Yes, you’ve seen this before. But on this Star Wars Day in the year of our lord 2023, it’s always a good excuse to revisit it and have a hearty laugh before everything got so damn serious.
