Trixie Mattel vs. Lie Detector Test

Vanity Fair has a fun recurring feature on their YouTube channel where they take various celebrities and hook them up to a lie detector test. Obviously a polygraph isn’t the most reliable determinant of truth—I’m sure there are thousands of comments on the videos pointing out the results are inadmissible in court—but many of the subjects appear to approach the situation believing it will reveal all. It’s still possible to deceive the machine (using The Costanza Method if nothing else), but the segment reveals lots of fun information and leads to many an entertaining reaction.

The most recent installment features drag icon Trixie Mattel, there to promote her numerous projects (webseries with Katya, her music album, and her new TV show Trixie Motel). The video summary states:

Drag superstar Trixie Mattel takes Vanity Fair’s infamous lie detector test. Is she hurt to know that RuPaul doesn't follow her on Instagram? Did Katya and Trixie consider any other sounds other than "UNHhhh" when titling their YouTube series? How did Trixie meet partner, David Silver?

Trixie Motel is available to stream now on discovery+, with new episodes dropping every Friday through July 15th.

Mattel is a natural-born entertainer and is hilarious in this video while also providing surprising insights. Well worth the time to watch and learn more about America’s Sweetheart™.
