Khayla McGowan: Twin Peaks

What It Is: After the body of homecoming queen Laura Palmer washes up on a beach near the small Washington state town of Twin Peaks, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper is called in to investigate her strange demise. The deeper Cooper gets into the investigation, the closer he comes to the network of secrets and mysteries surrounding the town and its eccentric inhabitants, uncovering a web of mystery that ultimately leads him deep into the heart of his very own soul.

Why You Should Watch It: “Whenever I want to watch a comfort show, I turn to Twin Peaks because it feels like home. From the slow burn insanity to everything being just off-kilter in the well-built setting, the show mixes almost every genre and pretty much anyone can find something they love about it!”


Jeremy Lowe: THE FARM (2018)

What It Is: While traveling through the countryside, Nora and her boyfriend Alec stop for the night at an off-road bed and breakfast. When they wake up, the find that they are trapped in cages like animals in a farm managed by masked people to supply meat and milk. What will happen to them?

Why You Should Watch It: “I dug it. The acting was better than expected. I also enjoyed the cinematography and score. Imagine if the Animal Liberation Front made a movie that was a cross between TWO THOUSAND MANIACS! (1964) and FORTRESS (1985), you'd get THE FARM. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”


Alexis M. Collazo: THE SPINE OF NIGHT (2021)

What It Is: The history of a land that never was, beginning with a young man stealing forbidden knowledge from a sacred plant. He falls to its darker temptations and in so doing, unleashes ages of suffering onto mankind. As his power grows over the years, it falls to people of different ilk and culture to attempt to stop him. Among those who stand against him are a daring tomb-robber, star-crossed lovers, a maniacal necromancer, winged assassins, and an undying guardian

Why You Should Watch It: “I absolutely love the nostalgic quality of the animation. I was immediately drawn into the strange fantasy world and was along for the kind of surreal journey. It’s weird and violent in all the right ways, making it a fun watch.”


Rob Dean:  POSSESSOR (2020)

What It Is: Tasya Vos is a corporate agent who uses brain-implant technology to inhabit other people's bodies. While she has a special gift, her experiences on these jobs have caused dramatic change in her. As her mental strain intensifies, she begins to lose control, and soon she finds herself trapped in the mind of a man whose identity threatens to destroy her own.

Kiley Fox: THE TOMB (1986)

What It Is: A tomb robber steals artifacts from an unmarked tomb in Egypt and sells them to different archeologists in America.

This displeases the immortal woman whose tomb has been desecrated, so she follows the artifacts to America, where she busies herself extracting revenge for the theft.

Why You Should Watch It: “Go for the Fred Olen Ray quality cheese, stay for the extra silly lightning effects of a dead Egyptian Princess sucking your soul out. Honestly, it takes talent to overact this well and have it be so genuinely entertaining.”
