RETURN TO PARADISE (1998)

The trailer for 1998’s RETURN TO PARADISE. Directed by Joseph Ruben, written by Wesley Strick and Bruce Robinson, based on the movie FORCE MAJEURE (not that one) by Pierre Jolivet and Olivier Schatzky. The film stars Vince Vaughn, Anne Heche, Joaquin Phoenix, David Conrad, Vera Farmiga, Nick Sandow, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ming Lee, Joel de la Fuente, and Richard Chang.

The plot summary is as follows:

Three men find themselves in hell in the middle of paradise, after their vacation goes wrong and their irresponsible past comes back to haunt them. Accused of drug trafficking, one of the men fights for his life in another country, while the other two struggle to come to grips with owning up to their share of the burden while preparing themselves for the future they may not have.
