EARWORM (2022)

I don’t think Adult Swim gets enough credit for helping to keep weirdness alive and accessible in the 21st Century. Putting aside the bizarre premises and comedy of their main programming, they also sponsor all sorts of experimental shorts via their Off The Air series. That’s where TOO MANY COOKS premiered and many more fairly classic strange short films—including today’s entry. EARWORM was written/directed/a whole shit-ton of other stuff by Bryan M. Ferguson and it’s under two minutes of all killer, no filler. It’s a simple premise that’s easy to get immediately and filled with terrific sound work and visual design.
