“I’m Just Ken” - Medieval Style

It’s awards season and it is fairly likely that Greta Gerwig’s BARBIE will be up for more than a few nods. One of the more likely nominations, in my humblest of opinions, will be for the song “I’m Just Ken,” in which Ken (Ryan Gosling) lays bare all of his insecurities and hopes that someday he’ll be “Kenough” for someone. It’s an intensely rousing number that’s hilarious and sounds great, too (if it goes on a little bit too long).

“I’m Just Ken” has been a part of the zeitgeist since BARBIE’s release back in July. Need further proof? Here’s an instrumental version of it done in the style of medieval music (or, as it’s apparently also known, “bardcore”). It’s a dark ages bop. Enjoy!
