JCVD’s Cannon Origins (Part 1)

Jean-Claude Van Damme broke through to the mainstream thanks to Cannon Films, those prolific razzle dazzle producers of the ‘80s. But how did that story go? In this clip from ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: THE WILD, UNTOLD STORY OF CANNON FILMS, the documentarians speak to filmmakers (including Albert Pyun!) and Cannon executives about how JCVD high kicked his way into stardom. Tenacity paid off as he was awarded with scripts for BLOODSPORT and CYBORG (supplanting the preferred in-house martial artist, Chuck Norris). It’s a fascinating story…that may have another perspective on it (stay tuned!).
