Talk Scary To Me Podcast
Podcasts! There’s probably tens of millions of them, with even more springing out of the pandemic lockdowns as folks needed to communicate, work on their craft, stay in the public eye, continue discussing certain topis, and some others were just bored. Hell, this site will probably have a podcast soon, tied to our burgeoning Patreon. But that wave of podcast content isn’t all filler and sonic swill, some truly great projects have arisen from the seemingly constantly expanding aural landscape.
One such show is Talk Scary To Me, hosted by actors Scout Compton and Danielle Harris, is a wide-ranging podcast that delves into many conversations but primarily focus on horror and sex (though rarely in tandem, for those worried). Harris has been working as an actor for over 35 years with 106 titles to her name including family films and sitcoms—but it’s her work in the horror genre for which she is arguably best known, particularly her appearances in the HALLOWEEN franchise (both the original run and the Rob Zombie remakes). Similarly, Compton has been working for over 20 years with over 95 credits to her name, but is arguably best known for her work in Zombie’s HALLOWEEN duology.
These self-identified Scream Queens (some actors don’t like the nomenclature, others embrace it) are clearly best friends. It’s their chemistry, humor, and brutal honesty that fuels Talk Scary To Me. There’s showbiz talk and horror movie chatter, but the main focus is talking about sexual experiences, giving advice on romance/intimacy, and other such topics. It’s a nice mixture of relatability, vulnerability, insight, and comedy that makes for things alarming but recognizable.
You can also watch the first three episodes on YouTube playlist found here. After those it switched so that the video podcast format was only available to Talk Scary To Me’s Patreon members.
Quick Note: Despite the content warning at the top of the videos, there is no nudity or violence in the episodes. There is some swearing along with frank sexual discussions, so utilize headphones accordingly.
