Trixie Mattel and Katya Like to Watch LEGALLY BLONDE

If RuPaul’s Drag Race has done absolutely nothing else for this world, good or bad, it gifted us by introducing Trixie Mattel to Katya and thus from there was a genius comedy duo birthed. The pair have their show UNHhhh on YouTube, they make The Trixie & Katya Show for Viceland, they created a fabulous book, and on and on (including an upcoming live tour). And yet, there is no bottom to this well as they’re constantly putting out work that is maniacally unique, adorably deranged, and undeniably hilarious.

One of their ongoing collaborations is Netflix’s “I Like To Watch” on YouTube, in which the riotously funny and disarmingly genuine queens react to various programming on the streaming platform. Whether it’s an original movie, a series, or a title hosted on the service, Trixie and Mattel find fresh ways of approaching it that is witty but never bullying. It’s that vein of “we’re all freaks, let’s revel in that but also that means we have to recognize how ridiculous we all are, too” which is completely delightful. This installment was made to coincide with Pride and has the divas revisiting the gay icon movie, 2001’s LEGALLY BLONDE. It’s beautifully silly with an ability to infect anyone watching it with a need for their own zaniness and quippery.
