Cake Boss’ Most Erotic Cake
Paul F. Tompkins is my favorite comedian. In addition to delivering astounding comedy albums, film and TV work, and constantly hilarious tidbits across the entertainment gamut—he also creates incredible characters on a multitude of podcasts, especially those on the Earwolf network. He creates such indelible (and surprisingly detailed) characters with his variations on Garry Marshall, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and others in his ever-expanding stable of bizarro people. One of his weirdest (and best) personas is that of the Cake Boss (Cake Boss), based on the baker from the reality TV show of that name. Tompkins infuses this simple dude who makes unnecessary lavish desserts with far too much fondant with all manner of mystical abilities, idiosyncratic behavioral tics (like repeating “cake boss” (cake boss) whenever he hears it), and a truly arcane backstory.
One of the high points of the comedian’s interpretation of the …lovable?… supervisor of sweets is an episode of Comedy Bang! Bang! where Tompkins (as Cake Boss (Cake Boss)) joins other guests Steven Yeun, Doug Benson, and host Scott Aukerman to reply to some questions that came from listeners. When asked about the most erotic cake that the prince of pastries ever made, Tompkins and crew take the opportunity to tee up a wonderful bit of off-the-cuff humor and insanity. There are a couple of NSFW words used, so take caution. You can watch the entire podcast in video form here.
