Why Do Superhero Movies Love Trains?

Over at Nando v Movies, the perennial film lover and comic book geek Nando investigates the odd running pattern of locomotives showing up in many, if not most, superhero movies. The official synopsis states:

Trains. They span continents. Subways connect our American cities (if you live in New York, LA, or DC). They might even help us survive the apocalypse. But they also feature heavily in superhero movies. And in this video, I want to ask why.

Through the course of the almost 30-minute video, Nando explores the history of trains, the history of superheroes, the history of cinema, and how they all intertwine while also providing solid grounds for spectacle and metaphor.
