Best of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia…Podcast

Look it’s Friday and this week has been a month on top of it happening in a year that feels like a decade. Things are bad and every silver lining to our problems comes with an asterisk. But there IS some good out there. There is It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. And there is the excellent podcast from its three creators/stars.

The podcast originally started as audio only and a chance (during initial COVID lockdown, seemingly) to rewatch and discuss previous episodes. It has since become an audio AND video podcast as well as essentially derailed from the revisiting It’s Always Sunny mission into various side projects and tangents and other conversations. And it. Is. Awesome.

Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, and Charlie Day—along with producer/writer extraordinaire Megan Ganz—helm an exceptionally delightful hour-ish show that reveals that there’s a lot of their characters inside their real life personalities (Howerton is probably not a serial killer though. Probably not.). They excellently riff off each other while talking about their work on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, experiences from when they were young, and general opinions about state of the world and the people in it.

To best get an idea of the podcast, at least in video form, check out this montage of the best it has offered in the 30+ episodes so far. It has been edited in such a way that running jokes are introduced and viewers can watch the evolution (or devolution) of running jokes while also getting a good sense of who hosts really are. It’s a fun way to spend a Friday afternoon in this swamp dumpster world and I think we could all use it.
