Pushing Up Roses, “That Time Jessica Fletcher DIED on Murder, She Wrote”

Pushing Up Roses is a great channel that covers episodes of Are You Afraid Of The Dark?, Goosebumps, and The X-Files, plus looks at old point-and-click adventure games and much more. She is a unique host who combines encyclopedic knowledge with genuine enthusiasm and no cynical draping to drag down her (re)visits of these pieces of entertainment.

But one of Pushing Up Roses’ best regularly recurring installments is walking through episodes of Murder, She Wrote. Noting the actors and their line deliveries, the light fixtures and wardrobes, the plot moves, and how they all fit in to larger storytelling standards of the mystery genre. Her latest installment focuses on a seventh season episode in which beloved mystery writer and amateur sleuth J.B. Fletcher is pronounced dead…which is news to the actual Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) when she reads about it in the paper! I’m legitimately shocked that Murder, She Wrote hasn’t been rebooted in some fashion (Murder, She Twote?) as it seems like a pretty winning formula for entertainment, fun(-ish) guest stars, and more.
